Solana will be upgrading its web hosting servers to PHP 7 on March 31st, 2021.
PHP 5 reached its end of life on December 31st, 2018. This means that PHP 5 exposes you and our servers to security vulnerabilities and bugs that have been fixed in more recent versions of PHP. https://www.php.net/eol.php
All of our web servers will be upgraded to PHP 7 on March 31, 2021. If your website is still making use of PHP 5, particularly a PHP-based CMS such as WordPress, you may find that some plugins have ceased working, or in the worst case, that your site no longer works at all.
It’s important that the code your website uses is kept up to date. Solana Systems is responsible for the web server infrastructure on which your site is hosted, but as the website owner, you are responsible for keeping your website code up to date.
Solana is happy to offer upgrade testing, updates, and upgrades to assure that your website smoothly transitions from PHP 5 to PHP 7. Please contact us for more information.
